Melesha Gunning-Banhan is a Clinical Psychologist who works with individuals, couples, families, private and public organizations to promote better mental health in Antigua and Barbuda. After spending the last seven years working in private practice and with various organizations addressing issues of stress management, grief and loss, abnormal behaviour, as well as addiction, Dr. Banhan knows what truly underscores behaviour change and a balanced healthy mind—and this involves more than just the will to be well. It’s about helping people understand themselves and doing so in the context of their past and present experiences and environments.

Dr. Banhan has had great success in helping people change their behaviour, bringing families to a better understanding of each other and guiding individuals to changing their perspectives in how they see their situations and themselves. She has also had great success in managing, implementing or participating in various environmental projects throughout the Caribbean, including projects spanning multiple countries. She currently hosts a radio program that promotes healthy family development and creating family unity through better mental health management on GodFirst radio. Dr. Banhan is also a published author. In addition to her broad psychological experience, Dr. Banhan is a trained Pastoral Counsellor, Youth Pastor, Environmental Management Consultant, wife and mother of three awesome boys.

Dr. Banhan holds a BS in International Relations from the University of The West Indies, a MSc in Environmental health and safety Management from the University of Findlay, a MDiv with a Counselling focus from Tyndale University College and Seminary and a Doctorate in Psychology form California Southern University.
